Frequently Asked Questions

Should I go for the 654 hp standard version or 719 hp 700R package?
The standard 654 hp version is already incredibly fast and more manageable for most drivers. The 700R package adds serious drama with enhanced brakes, more power, and track-focused upgrades. Choose 700R if you're planning serious competition or want maximum bragging rights. Most track day users find the standard version more than sufficient.
Is the RXC suitable for road use?
Technically yes, but it's really designed for track use. The ride is firm, it's very low, and the performance is overwhelming on public roads. Some owners do drive them on roads for special occasions, but you'll appreciate it most on track where you can use the performance safely.
What are the running costs compared to the SR models?
Significantly higher. The V6 engine, larger brakes, and more complex systems all cost more to maintain. Fuel consumption is much higher, and you'll need more frequent brake and tyre changes. Think supercar running costs rather than track toy costs. The performance justifies it, but budget accordingly.
How different is the closed cockpit experience from open Radicals?
Completely different. The closed cabin transforms long sessions by eliminating fatigue from wind noise and buffeting. You can actually have conversations at speed, and weather becomes irrelevant. The climate control and refined interior make it suitable for longer journeys between tracks. It feels more like a supercar than a track toy.
How does the V6 engine compare to the 4-cylinder turbo in the SR10?
The V6 is much more powerful and refined. You get way more torque, the power comes on smoother, and the sound is fantastic. The twin-turbo setup means no lag: it just pulls hard from anywhere in the rev range. If you want the best engine experience Radical offers, the V6 is worth the extra cost.
Do I need the ABS and traction control systems?
For most drivers, yes. The RXC has serious power that can overwhelm even experienced drivers. The electronic aids are very well calibrated and don't interfere with the driving experience until you really need them. You can always turn them off when you want the raw experience, but having them as backup is reassuring.
